Voices of Pride: Rainbow reception, film screening & talk – New Milford

Join us this Thursday for a special Voices of Pride event as we honor the stories, experiences, and contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities.

We’re delighted to partner with New Milford Public Library for this event, which will be held at the senior center.

The evening will begin with a festive mocktail reception, offering an opportunity to gather, connect, and celebrate together. We will then screen the acclaimed documentary “Casa Susanna,” which explores a hidden haven where transgender women and cross-dressers found community, acceptance, and friendship during the 1950s and 1960s.

Following the film, participants are invited to stay for a thoughtful discussion about the documentary, LGBTQ+ history, and the importance of preserving and sharing diverse voices and experiences.
