DESCRIPTION:Lighthouse is for LGBTQ+ youth in middle and high school who seek a place to authentically be themselves\, find support\, and meet others in the LGBTQ+ community in a safe and confidential setting. Lighthouse meets weekly at the Darien Depot and is facilitated by trained adults who strive to create a space of inclusion and welcome all participants. The weekly group features a time to share about life and a time to play and have fun. Lighthouse is a social support program of Kids In Crisis\, is free\, does not require registration\, and food is always provided. DESCRIPTION:Ridgefied’s seventh annual Pride in the Park celebration will take place on Saturday\, June 6th from 12 – 3 pm in Ballard Park\, 485 Main Street\, Ridgefield (Rain location: Yanity Gym) with a parade around the park starting at 1pm.   Ridgefield Pride in the Park is a free event\, open to the public and catering to families\, with a variety of activities\, crafts\, entertainment and informational tables geared towards all ages. \nIn addition to Pride in the Park\, there will be a multitude of celebratory Pride events throughout May\, June and July with something for everyone\, from our tiniest tots to our seniors. \nIn these times of social upheaval and division it is essential that we come together and support each other.  The LGBTQ community is one of our vulnerable populations\, and it is important that we work to lift people up rather than pull them down.  Ridgefield CT Pride provides just such an opportunity to do so\, so please come join us in celebrating the LGBTQ community. \nRidgefield CT Pride is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization that was created in 2019. \nPride in the Park Activities include:\nHair Flair Station\nLawn games (corn hole\, can jam\, hula hoops\, potato sac races\, giant size connect 4)\nCrafts: beading\, coloring\, nail painting\, button making\nKid-friendly activities (ie: ball pit\, temporary tattoo \, face painting\, nail painting\, coloring\, beading) balloon animals\nRainbow Family Storytime\nPhoto station\nBring your own picnic\nFree cotton candy \nEntertainment:\nDJ at the Gazebo\nLive Music at the Stage: Ridgefield Chorale\nMarch around the Park at 1pm

A classic in fictional American literature spanning over three centuries tells the story of Orlando as he transitions over the centuries\, starting as a young nobleman in Elizabeth’s England\, and ends his (now her) tale in 1928 as a wife and mother at the tail end of the women’s suffrage movement. A heartfelt tale looking at the roles of gender through the centuries\, and brilliant use of transitioning as being both literal and metaphorical in its analysis of gender throughout history.

DESCRIPTION:Monthly\, No RSVP Required\, 18+ \nThe non-binary group is a peer support group for adults. It is a safe space for expressing non-binary\, fluid\, or genderqueer identities among like minded peers. Discussion of gender\, including its evolving role in our society\, will factor heavily into meetings. Participants are able to define what sort of community this program will build.
